BEST SOURCE OF CLEAN ENERGY FOR INDUSTRIAL BOILERS
Alien Fuel Pellets Made from invasive alien vegetation |
Alien Fuel Group is taking climate change head-on through its innovation-A real game-changer in the clean and carbon-neutral energy innovation technology
Alien Fuel Production Plant in Worcester, Western Cape South Africa |
The company aims to contribute to reducing carbon footprint whilst clearing alien invasive vegetation species and creating much-needed employment in South Africa.
The 2021 European Union Climate 360 award winner in the Sustainable Energy category, Alien Fuel Africa prides itself in making carbon-neutral energy-producing fuel briquettes from plants that are considered alien and invasive in South Africa.
Those carbon-neutral briquettes are used in the manufacturing industry for heating purposes making them a very clean, sustainable but efficient alternative of energy to their traditional competitors like coal, diesel, paraffin, and Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG).
Alien fuel also has the lowest cost per ton of steam making it a very efficient and affordable fuel available on the market.
Alien Fuels has the lowest (cost per ton of steam) as compared to other fuels |
This is very good for biodiversity as it creates an ecological balance within our forests.
Invasive vegetation by nature grows much randomly and quicker than other plants and needs to be cleared regularly in line with most countries' Environmental and Agricultural Legislation.
This is where Alien Fuel Africa comes in with their technology and makes good use of all that cleared vegetation by using it to make alien fuel pellets /briquettes which are high in energy.
Alien Fuel Group has as part of their unique formula incorporated their own privately developed state-of-the-art PLC driven biomass burner into the overall operation
The Biomass Burner is manufactured by Alien Fuel Group inhouse engineers and technicians and can be easily retrofitted to an existing fossil fuel boiler/ burner combination
This system converts a solid biomass fuel into highly efficient and low emission energy thereby minimizing the amount of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by a significant percentage as compared to its competitors.

A quarry stone mining site in Mutare, Zimbabwe |
Alert Residents in the Eastern border town of Mutare, Zimbabwe have made enough noise to force a Chinese company to withdraw the mining equipment they had set up in Dangamvura Mountain.
The mountain is already suffering from deforestation that left it exposed to weather hazards and erosion.
Residents have cut down all trees thick enough to be used as firewood due to the unreliability of electricity.
Electricity shortages story read https://envirosocafrica.blogspot.com/2021/11/africa-embraces-solar-energy.html?m=1
Concerned about the environmental and health hazards posed by the mine, residents piled pressure for the company to stop operations citing the proximity of the mining site to the residential area.
Normally quarry mining includes blasting of rocks and this causes both noise and air pollution.
Another reason the residents piled pressure for the company to stop operations was that the site is near main water pipes supplying the nearby Zimunya and Dangamvura suburbs.
"It clearly shows that miners are just setting up their mines without first obtaining an Environmental Impact Assessment," said another resident who chose to remain anonymous for security reasons.

The Power Of Environmental Education and Consciousness
Solar Panels, Inverter, and Solar battery |
Batteries and Inverters |
With constant power cuts are popularly known as load shedding being common in most African countries people have started embracing the use of alternative clean energy -the solar energy
Solar panels mounted on rooftops, inverters and batteries are the major components of a good solar system.
SOLAR PANELS
Solar systems collect energy from the sun.
The collected energy is either converted to electricity by silicon cells covered by a tightly fitted and sealed glass casing that protects them from direct contact with impurities like dust and water.
Sunlight +Silicon Cells = Photovoltaic effect
Inverters
Inverters play a very important role in changing the direct current(DC) produced by solar panels to alternating current (AC) needed by most home appliances and tools.
There are different sizes of inverters that are available on the market.
Solar Batteries
In most cases, the power produced goes to the grid and goes directly to your appliances and tools.
However, there is a need to store excess power
Batteries act as a power bank and store all the excess power. The power is then used later in the night when solar panels can no longer generate any electricity until the next morning when the sun rises again.
This means that batteries are another important component of a solar system, Without them we won't have power at night hence the need to invest in strong, reliable and adequate batteries for our solar system
If you invest more panels, a high quality and strong inverter and more batteries you can get a good amount of power.

Beautiful Artwork used to spread Climate Change Awareness |
By T.Matewa
Art is beautiful but it is more beautiful when it is used for educating the world about the environmental and social problems that we face as a planet.
That is exactly what https://resources4climatechange.com/artwork/ is doing.

"Recently we identified a village of 300
residents in rural Zimbabwe called Shangwe Village."
"We found out that the villagers mainly women, the elderly
and children were facing a big problem in terms of accessing clean drinking
water in line with the SDG
Sustainable Development Goal number 6 which aims to ensure
availability of sustainable water management and sanitation for all."
"We found out that children as young as primary school going
children, women, and the elderly have to travel a long way to the nearest
source of clean drinking water on a daily basis."
"We came up with a solution to help solve the problem by
doing a data survey and fact finding meeting with the residents of the village."
"The results of the survey and our successful stakeholder
meetings showed that there was really an urgent need for "
"1- Drilling a permanent and easily accessible source
of clean water for domestic and /agricultural use ."
"2- Residents needed education on how to help them understand how to take care of the well and also from destroying nearby forests that plays a big role in the water cycle and water conservation."
"This project will help towards the achievement of Sustainable
Development Goal number 6 if other global citizens can also do the same
wherever they operate from."
Born J. Murali in India on the 14th of February 1989,Treeman is among many environmentally conscious global citizens who have decided to take global warming head-on.
Treeman who said he almost died between the rocks under a tree when his mother couldn't bear the labor pains anymore and had to give birth under a tree got his connection and love for trees because of what happened on that day.
A tree became his and many other people's maternity ward.
One good reason he has this undying and strong connection with trees.
As world leaders are meeting in Glasgow discussing how to tackle Climate Change at the COP 26 conference, In India there is a man who is tackling it in action!
A true hero indeed!!
Treeman is fighting this imminent global disaster through his amazing initiative of planting trees in all vacant pieces of land, basically turning any empty and bare piece of land into a forest-Amazing isn't it?
"I started this initiative in 2017 " remarked Treeman with a wide smile on his face.
"The first step was to turn my land into a forest" he added.
"I planted about 100 trees as a start-up on that piece of land"
Just like most heroes, Treeman was inspired by someone and he told me that he drew his inspiration from sir Nammazhvar
"There are very special collaborative individuals and organizations that are always walking with me in this journey and I want to give special mention to them," he said.
"These people are Sherry Bollerud, David Tracy, Theresa Gliha, Fletch Fletch, and The Paradise Restoration Movement Team from Sweden Claudia Wutkowska, Jonathan Tolleson, and Sanna Scholander who are the largest group supporting me in planting trees at a large scale."
"I am grateful to all the above-mentioned people and organizations for always supporting me in my work of planting trees."
Since he started looking for pieces of land and turning them into forests, he estimates the number of trees he has planted to over 4000 a number that could see this world getting a significant number of trees if we can have 400 men and women like Treeman from each country!
His success story wasn't going to be an easy one without his dear friends Natalia and Hector who are very supportive of what he does.
Treeman's vision is bold and clear -"Today it is very difficult to green India and the whole planet without the cooperation of the people," he said.
"They graze their livestock mainly sheep and cattle and they end up feeding them on the forests " That is a major challenge.
"We are giving people who are willing to convert their pieces of land into forests for free" added Treeman.
"We also go and do the planting of saplings for those who wish to have them planted for them but can not do it due to different circumstances "
Treeman has also planted forests for different individuals and organizations.
One organization he has planted trees on their behalf is Paradise Restoration Movement.
Treeman can plant trees for anyone around the world if the land is available.
You can choose if you want the tree or forest to be named after you or your organization
He sincerely appeals to readers and everyone around the world to help him plant more trees so that we can all bring back the glory and beauty of our planet whilst combating global warming

Every morning we wake up in our neighborhoods to be welcomed by dumped waste!!
The waste can vary from type to type!
From plastic, glass, kitchen waste, wood, fabric and other materials.
You can all agree with me that this is not good for the environment as we all know that waste poses environmental and health hazards .
Do we have a way to completely stop this?
What can be done to keep our streets and neighborhoods clean?
I will share with you ways in which we can keep the environment clean
1.Reduce -When we reduce on our consumption by buying things that we only can use/consume we are not only saving the resources but also saving our finances
2-ReUse- Most things that we throw away as waste can be re used,re decorated, re refurbished and look more new and attractive again. All we need to do is to become more innovative and artistic inorder to create better things than the original out of waste -Its very possible if we put all our minds on it.
3-Recycle - Materials like glass, metal ,plastic can be recycled and good money can be made from doing this environmentally friendly job.
The use of recycling bins has made it more easier to make sure that we sort our waste before we throw it away be it from our houses, offices or factories.
4-Repair- Fashion, furniture can be repaired or redesigned instead of being thrown away.
A pair of sneakers that is fading its original color can be re sprayed and looks new again, same with a broken couch or cupboard. Dumping our unwanted property ,clothes and goods is not a wise idea as we miss and opportunity to make some bucks out of our pre loved goods .
Rather give them that magic touch, and sell or donate them than just fill up our landfills with goods that can be useful to someone
Next time you think of dumping you Toyota Fortuner,Ford Ranger,iPhone 12,Nike/ Addidas Sneakers get in touch with me I might benefit from those items.
The issuing of a mining permit to a Chinese Mining company Heijing to prospect for Black Granite in the Uzumba area in Zimbabwe has caused a lot of political, environmental and social disharmony and bickering between residents, government officials and businessmen.
The bone of contention is the ancestral land of the Uzumba residents where the stones are going to be extracted by Heijing.
One resident who is a Liberation War stuggle veteran vowed to vote for the Opposition Movement for Democratic Change led by Advocate Nelson Chamisa (a young and vibrant politician ) in the 2023 elections if the government doesn't stop Heijing from evicting them from their land to pave way for its mining activities.
According to one resident, The government never did an Environmental Impact Assessment or a stake holder consultation process to get the residents views and opinions on the mining project.
"Our relatives graves are in this area,in those mountains where the Chinese wants to blast and extract black granite and in our culture those areas are sacred" said the resident.
"We wont be vacating this land,This is the only land that we have!!We were never offered an alternative land to relocate to!!"
"Do they want us to live in the trees like birds? If thats what they want we are ready we wont vacate this land we fought hard for it" declared another angry resident.
Granite mining has caused a lot of land degradation, noise and air pollution and habitat loss for animals who stay in granite kopjes.
More Environmental Activists are calling for the respect of the rights of Uzumba residents and the cancellation of the mining licence and agreement between the Zimbabwean government and the Chinese mining company until a solution has been reached between all stakeholders .
