James Kacheya is not just educating rural area dwellers about Climate Change but he is also providing solutions to help mitigate it.
"This is my idea and I focus on educating and building Resilience against the negative effects of Climate Change at the same time offering an alternative source of energy to rural communities," James told this publication.

He went on and said, "My country Zambia is losing approximately 300,000 hectares of forest every year largely due to unsustainable production of wood fuel which in most cases involves illegal cutting down of trees to make wood charcoal for selling or domestic use."

James thinks that something has to be done and the right time is none other than now.

"Everyone has a role to play to stop this deforestation "added James who is a teacher by profession.

Kacheya has decided to take his teaching skills to the local community and educate them on the significant role trees play in this changing climate.

"After people have been educated an alternative source of energy needs to be provided and the alternative is Solar Energy," Kacheya said.

According to James, Every year Zambia has 2000 to 3000
hours of sunshine making it naturally suitable for solar energy generation.

"One good thing about solar cookers is that the food cooked using them is "smoke-free" and tastes better  compared to firewood cooked food," remarked James
He has been trying the idea and local communities are loving it.

James emphasized that Solar stoves are environmentally friendly, unlike wood fuel which leads to deforestation.

Currently, James is looking for support to reach as many communities as he can with his noble project.
He is willing to work with any individual, corporate world, or Non-Governmental Organizations interested in his idea.

There are costs to purchase the stoves, distribute them and make follow-ups in the communities which require motorbikes hence his sincere appeal for financial support.
